The Tashkent Metro opened in 1977 and became the first metro in Central Asia, the pride and main tourist attraction of the capital of Uzbekistan. The anniversary of the Soviet power, to which the launch of the metro was timed, defined the high level of artistic style of the stations, in which the best architects and artists of the nation were invited to participate.
